clock, paper, scissors

Summer is the time for weddings and that means it is also the time for anniversaries. This time last year, we went our Wild West Road trip to attend our friends Jamie & Matt wedding in South Dakota.

There is something about that 1st anniversary that merits a little extra celebration. As a reminder, I made them a little paper clock. Paper is the traditional gift for the first year and a clock is the modern. Since we are talking marriage here, why not marry the 2.

It really couldn't be easier.

Take an old box or other form, cover it in whatever paper you choose (I use Mod Podge). Newsprint, comics, maps. Add a clock hardware kit that you can get in any craft store and that is it. I like using boxes since they are so lightweight and the little lip is a built in hanger.

Customize the theme and shape for the special couple. I made this one for my friend Julia for her and Andrews one year. A fun way to commemorate their wedding in Mackinaw Island.

Cute idea! I love how you "married" the two traditions.
