debut

Thanks to everyone that came out to the Atwood Summerfest this Saturday to enjoy a sunny day of music, food and fun art. As this was my debut, I was a little unsure of the turnout, but those fears were quickly subsided. My beautiful sis Amy came up from Chicago to help me out and I do not know what I would have done with out her. We were busy from the start.

The response was really great, in fact better than any first timer could have hoped for. I came with three carloads and left with only 1. Lots of big sales, the 8 paned window, a 2 tiered map table, the purple jewelry organizer and yes...Miss Priscilla the peacock...feathers and all.

I met so many great people, saw old friends and met some new ones from the blog world. The biggest news was all the money raised for our four legged friends at the Dane Co Humane Society. The window raised $135 and the chair $40. Thanks to all that bid.

Fresh flowers picked up early in the a.m. at the farmers market provided a nice addition to my French flower pails.
As well as a few finished LP cocktail trays, I also brought a groovy pile of albums for people to design their own. This Shawn Cassidy one was purchased by a fan and will soon have it as a tray to admire. I even had a guy run home to his house to bring me his own vintage Frank Zappa album that he would like transformed into a tray.

Me finishing a few last details

Rings, earrings and other table items

A vintage tray transformed into a cool clock with forks as time markers.

Reclaimed shutters and a few nails provided a great way to display some of my wall items. Also, it was easy to re-arrange once items were sold.

My friend Julia designed this great logo for me. I used them not only as business cards, but also as added hang tags.

Speaking of tags, all those old 'before' shots came in handy as I attached them to a tag with the price and story of their humble beginnings. Everybody likes a good makeover story right ?

Overall it was a great day and I will definitely be doing it again soon...maybe another one this summer or fall. In the meantime, the items that were not sold will be making their way into my Etsy shop and possibly a few local retailers. As always, free delivery within the Madison area on all the larger items. So if you had your eye on something this weekend, email me to see if it is still available.

Although my 30 projects in 8 weeks is over, there is only 5 months until Christmas, so after a few days off, I will be back in the studio conjuring up new ideas and restorations in time for the holiday season. Thanks again to all and enjoy your new Green Cricket treasures.
